Show duty and import VAT at checkout. No surprises on delivery.
GoEcom is the landed-cost layer for cross-border Shopify stores. Your customers see the real duty and import VAT before they pay, so parcels stop getting refused at the door.
Surprise customs charges kill cross-border sales
When duty and import VAT land as a shock bill from the courier, the order you already shipped turns into a loss. Three things happen, again and again.
Refused parcels
The buyer rejects the delivery rather than pay an unexpected customs bill at the door. You eat the outbound shipping and the return.
Chargebacks and refunds
Customers who do pay often dispute the charge or demand a refund, because nobody told them about it at checkout.
One-star reviews
"Hidden fees on delivery" is one of the fastest ways to lose repeat buyers and tank your store rating in new markets.
Live in three steps
Connect Shopify
Install the GoEcom app and connect your store, plus Xero or QuickBooks if you want the numbers to reconcile in your books.
Auto-classify your catalogue
GoEcom assigns HS commodity codes to your products and pulls the matching duty and import-VAT rules from HMRC and EU tariff data.
Customers see landed cost
At checkout the buyer sees the duty and import VAT for their country, shown as an estimate or collected upfront (DDP). You control the mode.
The whole cross-border tax layer, in one app
Landed-cost checkout extension
A native Shopify checkout block that shows duty + import VAT per destination, with a clear "no surprises" message.
HS-code auto-classification
Every product mapped to the right commodity code, so duty rates and restrictions are accurate, not guessed.
Import VAT, OSS and IOSS
EU import VAT, OSS and IOSS handled, including de-minimis thresholds and the €150 IOSS rule.
Accounting sync and reconciliation
Orders and the duty/VAT collected flow into Xero or QuickBooks, reconciled at the order level.
Markets and VAT-threshold radar
See where you are approaching a registration threshold before you trip it, country by country.
Display or collect (DDP)
Start with a no-risk estimate, then switch to collecting duty at checkout when you are ready.
The same engine that quotes at checkout
A £120 merino knit shipped to Germany. The buyer sees the duty and import VAT before they pay, so the £160.10 on the order is the £160.10 they actually pay.
Display the estimate, or collect it (DDP)
Display the estimate
The checkout banner shows duty + import VAT so the buyer is never surprised. Works on any Shopify plan, no extra fees collected. The "no nasty delivery bill" experience, with zero risk.
Collect at checkout (DDP)
Charge the duty and import VAT upfront so the customer pays nothing on delivery. GoEcom configures and reconciles this through Shopify's native duties, so your books still balance.

Get early accessCommon questions
Do I need a specific Shopify plan?
The display estimate works on any Shopify plan. Collecting duty at checkout (true DDP) uses Shopify's native duties on Advanced or Plus (or an approved tax-platform path), which GoEcom configures for you.
Where does the data come from?
Duty rates and import-VAT rules come from HMRC and EU tariff data, matched to each product's HS commodity code. It is an estimate at checkout, reconciled against the actual figures in your books.
Will it slow down my checkout?
No. The quote is a single fast lookup that runs only for international orders, and domestic GB orders are skipped entirely, so there is zero checkout slowdown for your UK buyers.
What about my accounting?
GoEcom syncs orders and the duty/VAT collected into Xero or QuickBooks and reconciles at the order level, so VAT returns and OSS/IOSS filings stay clean.
How do I get access?
Take the short quiz (it asks about your store, where you ship, and your volume), and we onboard you with the checkout extension and catalogue classification. Hit any "Get early access" button to start the quiz.
