What does the Shopify app do?
The GoEcom Shopify app shows your customers their duty and import VAT at checkout, so there are no surprise charges on delivery and parcels stop getting refused at the door. It classifies your catalogue by HS commodity code and pulls duty and import-VAT rules from HMRC and EU tariff data.
Do you connect to my accounting?
Yes. GoEcom connects to FreeAgent, QuickBooks and Xero over read-only OAuth, so it can read your numbers to build the dashboard without ever writing to your books.
Is my data safe?
Your accounting connection is read-only OAuth, so GoEcom can only read your data, never change it. Connections are encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can disconnect at any time.
Do I still need an accountant?
GoEcom is software and tools, not an accountant. It shows you your store's numbers and helps with duty, VAT and landed cost. You can keep your existing accountant and use GoEcom alongside them.
